This restaurant sells dosa and idli for more than Rs 1000
A man named Ashish Singh recently expressed his dissatisfaction over the exorbitant prices of dosa and idli at a famous South Indian restaurant in Gurugram. Singh took to Instagram to share his food-related complaint after paying a hefty sum of Rs 1,000 for two dosas and a plate of idlis at a popular eatery located on Gurugram’s posh 32nd Avenue.
In a caption accompanying the snapshot of his meal, Singh lamented, “Gurgaon is crazy, spent 1K on two dosas and idlis after waiting for 30 minutes. Suggest good and reasonably priced dosa places.” The post quickly gained attention, garnering over 130K views and sparking a heated discussion over the cost of the culinary delights.
Reactions came swiftly from netizens, leading to divided stances on the matter. Some defend high-end restaurants, saying that premium establishments naturally come with associated premium price tags. One user commented, “You pay for the location and vibe, not just for the dosa. 32nd Avenue is the most premium location for a restaurant; Expect higher prices.”
In contrast, others sympathized with Singh’s sentiment, and suggested alternative eateries that offer quality South Indian food at more reasonable prices. One user argued, “Even in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, you can get dosa and idli at the same price. You paid for the space here, not the product.” Another user recommended alternative dining options, which included establishments like “Juggernaut, Nivedhiyam, Southy Café (Janak Puri), Mysore Café (Cyclist Café), Saravana Bhavan”.
