Those who kidnapped friend’s son arrested, were threatening to kill if he did not pay Rs 50,000
Rajnandgaon: Within 12 hours, the police have arrested the accused who kidnapped a minor child and threatened to kill him and collected Rs 50,000 as ransom from his family. Ransom amount has also been recovered from the accused.
In fact, last night Prathi lodged a report at Lal Bagh police station that his 15 year old son was taken away from his house by his friends Rohan Ganveer and Vivek Masih on a bike, who did not return home. The wife continuously tried to contact him on phone but to no avail. On the phone, Rohan Ganveer told the applicant’s wife that they had kidnapped her son. Give me Rs 50,000 in cash otherwise we will kill your son. They were called to Indamra with the money, due to which the applicant’s wife got scared and took 50,000 rupees in cash to Abis Company and went to Indamra and gave 50,000 rupees to Rohan and Vivek, then Rohan and Vivek handed over their minor son to them. After this both the accused absconded.
On the report of the applicant, the police registered a case against the accused Rohan Ganveer and Vivek Masih and were busy searching for the accused. A joint team of the police station and cyber cell was formed and sent, which within 12 hours arrested the accused Chandan Ganveer Lalbagh Prabhat Nagar and Vivek Masih father Neil Harvet Tankapara Rajnandgaon by raiding their residence this morning. Rs 30,000 from Rohan and Rs 20,000 from Vivek Masih and the bike were seized and the accused were sent to judicial custody.
