Three arrested including two shooters in Chandigarh
In a joint operation with Rajasthan Police, the Crime Branch of Delhi Police arrested three people, including two shooters, from Chandigarh for their alleged involvement in the murder of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena chief Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. , officials said on Sunday.
Gogamedi was shot dead in the living room of his home in Jaipur, Rajasthan on 5 December. Recently, images from closed-circuit television cameras were revealed which purportedly showed the attackers opening fire against Gogamedi.
The police had identified the two alleged killers as Rohit Rathod of Jaipur and Nitin Fauji of Mahendragarh, Haryana and had announced an effective reward of Rs 5 lakh for information leading to their arrest.
Delhi Police sources said on Sunday that a team of Anti Crime Division arrested the couple in Sector 22, Chandigarh in a joint operation with Rajasthan Police. He was accompanied by an associate Udham Singh, who was also captured.
According to a Delhi Police official, the accused will be handed over to Jaipur Police for further questioning.
