Three day training cum workshop organized for tribal women

Kawardha. In the district, Baiga, a specially protected tribe, has been attracting people with their art, culture and tradition while beautifying nature. Now, due to the special efforts of the state government and as per the wishes of Cabinet Minister and Kawardha MLA Mohammad Akbar, this society is now improving the lives of its children and families through biodiversity based and forest resources based income generating activities by creating new opportunities for livelihood and employment. In this series, Baiga women leaders of the specially protected tribe of Kabirdham district have participated in the training cum workshop organized for tribal women on storage, packing and marketing of minor forest produce.
A three-day training cum workshop has been organized from 13 to 15 September jointly with Tribal Research and Training Institute, Raipur and Foundation for Ecology Security. In which the Baiga woman leader of the specially protected tribe of Kabirdham district, while presenting, shared the experiences of improving sustainable livelihood, health and nutrition through the climate change adaptation environmental agriculture method being done in the Baiga dominated area of development block Bodla. In the context of environmental farming, information was given about seed selection, seed treatment, row mixed farming and kitchen garden.
Baiga women narrated their experiences of forest produce collection, storage, processing and marketing. The representative groups of Kabirdham include Shrimati Shribai and Ganeshiya from village Chhindpur, Bilashu Bai from village Labda, Sundari and Sukhiya from village Indripani, Rambai from village Ghatmuda, Ramkali and Bhaktin from village Padiyadharan. Forest Department, Tribal Welfare Department, Fisheries Department, Agriculture Department, Forest Produce Association, Horticulture Department and technical assistance to Baiga women in the Baiga dominated area of Taregaon forest cluster for climate change adaptation and improvement of livelihood, health and nutrition through environmental farming methods. It is being done with the active participation of Chandrakant Yadav President Gandhi Gram Vikas Samiti (Gramodaya Kendra) in coordination with the Panchayat Department. Organization members Komal Singh Dharvaiya, Ganesh Ram Dhurve, Chitrarekha Radekar, Paralegal Volunteer District Legal Services Authority and villagers congratulated all the Baiga women leader friends for state level participation.
