Three-member team arrested with yellow meth in Kochi
Kochi: The Excise Department has arrested some people supplying drugs under the code language of ‘Disco Biscuits’ at rave parties in Kochi. They used to provide drugs at rave parties organized secretly in private resorts and luxury hotels.
Those arrested include Kakkanad native Salahuddin O M (Mafru), Ameer Abdul Khader of Trithala in Palakkad and Arfaz Sharif of Kottayam Vaikom. They were caught in a joint operation of the Commissioner’s Special Action Team, Ernakulam IB, Ernakulam Range Party and Angamaly Range Party.
7.5 grams of MDMA, a highly destructive yellow meth, was recovered from them. One lakh five thousand rupees obtained by selling intoxicants and three smart phones were seized by Excise. They used to hand out drugs among customers under the code name ‘Disco Biscuits’.
Salauddin alias Maffru, accused in several criminal cases, was the main person supplying drugs at parties. This mob controlled group controlled the entire supply of drugs at rave parties. It was because of him that drug addicts mainly came from Bangalore and Mangalore for night parties.
Clues were received about him from the people caught earlier, but no one had much information. The method of sale was to book a room online under different names, stay and have the drugs delivered at night.
Excise got more information about them when their main middleman, a young man, was caught by the Excise Special Action Team. In the investigation conducted, they were caught with the drugs by the excise team while deboarding the train at Ernakulam. IB inspector S Manoj Kumar, Ernakulam range inspector Girish Kumar, Angamaly inspector Sijo Varghese, IB preventive officers NG Ajithkumar, Shyam Mohan, Vipin Babu, civil excise officers ND Tomy, DJ Biju, P Padmagirishan attended the party.
