Three people died in house fire
Motihari. Three people died and two others sustained burn injuries in a fire that broke out in a house in the Ghorasakhan police station area of Champaran district in East Bihar in the early hours of Saturday. Police sources said that a sudden fire broke out in a shop located in the lower part of the house of Subodh Pandit, resident of Mahadeva village, near the State Bank of India Purankhiya branch in Ghodaskhana. The fire spread and reached the first floor of the house.
As a result of this incident, three members of the family died and two others sustained severe burn injuries. According to sources, the deceased have been identified as Roshan Pandit, Kavita Devi and Shalu Kumari. The injured include Subadeh Pandit and Subabati Devi and their condition is said to be critical. The injured are being treated in Motahari. After receiving the information, a fire brigade reached the spot and brought the fire under control.
Short circuit is probably the cause of the fire. Sources said that the owner of the house was doing business in Nepal and had come here to celebrate Chhath festival. The bodies were sent to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. The case is under investigation.
