7 Burnt Alive After Short Circuit At EV Charging Station Sparks Blast In Indore

Bhopal: An EV car caught fire due to a short circuit at a charging point. The fire spread from the vehicle to the building. Gas cylinders kept in a house exploded. Seven people were burnt alive in the fire. (Indore Fire Blast) Three others suffered serious burns. The incident took place in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. A fire broke out in a building near Bengali Square in Indore at around 4 am on Wednesday. The car caught fire due to a short circuit at the electric vehicle (EV) charging point in the cellar of the building belonging to the Pugalia family. Within minutes, the fire spread throughout the three-storey residential building.

Meanwhile, more than 12 LPG gas cylinders were stored in a house in the building. The fire spread to them. About four gas cylinders exploded in succession. The area shook slightly due to the explosion of the gas cylinders. Due to the intensity of the explosions, a part of the building collapsed. The locals were terrified by the sound of the gas cylinder explosions.

On the other hand, the fire broke out and the electricity supply was cut off. Due to this, the electric door in the house was locked. This made the rescue operations difficult. The residents of the house were trapped inside. Seven people were burnt alive in the fire. Three were rescued by locals. Those who sustained burn injuries are being taken to the hospital for treatment.

Firefighters arrived at the scene after learning about the fire and brought the fire under control. The tragedy occurred when relatives who had come to the house were staying there overnight. The Indore Collector and SP said that seven people were burnt alive. They said that rescue operations have been launched. They revealed that an investigation into the incident is underway.
