Time to encourage women to come up with innovative solutions: Draupadi Murmu

President Draupadi Murmu on Monday said that all women use creativity everyday in household chores and other areas. It is time to encourage them to come up with innovative solutions and products that India needs. The President said that once families start supporting women, they will be able to contribute more in this field as well.

Only one woman among the National Award winners
She is already contributing in other areas. Speaking at the National Innovation Foundation’s 11th bi-annual National Basic Innovation and Outstanding Traditional Knowledge Awards, the President said, “I have noticed that out of 13 National Award winners honored here, only one is a woman.”

Murmu said that an important aspect of supporting and enhancing creativity is encouraging children and young people to ask questions. Our children should grow up to be solution providers. Once they understand that they have the ability to find solutions, they will surely find creative and innovative ways to reach the solutions.
