TNCC will protest by showing black flags during PM Modi’s visit

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) has said it will protest with black flags during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Kulasekarapattinam in Thoothukudi district on February 28 and demanded the central government’s “urgency” in addressing the concerns of fishermen. Will condemn “lack”.

TNCC President K Selvaperunthagai, in a press statement, expressed concern over the continued arrest of Tamil fishermen and confiscation of their boats by the Sri Lankan Navy.

He promised his party’s support to the fast by fishermen in Rameshwaram starting from Saturday.
He also supported the fishermen’s decision to boycott the annual pilgrimage to Katchatheevu announced by the parish priest of Verakotttu Church in Ramanathapuram district.
Selvaperunthagai said he would lead a human chain at Pamban Island in Rameshwaram on February 27. The black flag protest at Kulasekarapattinam will be led by All India Fishermen Congress national president S Armstrong Fernando.
