Tourism Promotion: ‘Dekho Bastar Season 2 – Bastar on Bike’ event organized
Raipur. The tribal-dominated Bastar and Surguja regions in Chhattisgarh are blessed with abundant natural beauty and resources. With the aim of promoting the state’s natural scenic beauty and historical heritage on a global level, the state government, under the special initiative of Chief Minister Shri Bhupesh Baghel, is dedicatedly working towards boosting tourism in these regions.
In line with this objective, the ‘Dekho Bastar Season 2 – Bastar on Bike’ a motorcycle touring event was organized in Bastar from June 18 to June 19, with the participation of 60 riders from Chhattisgarh and neighbouring states. The event received support from the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, Bastar district administration, and local partner organizations. Bastar MP Shri Deepak Baij graced the closing ceremony, where he appreciated the unparalleled natural beauty and cultural heritage of Bastar, urging the riders to promote Bastar on the world stage.
Briefing about the core objective of this event, Kanger Valley National Park Director Shri Dhammshil Ganvir said “It was mainly organized to showcase the natural beauty of Bastar, along with the travel routes, roads, and tourist facilities, in order to promote tourism.”
On June 18, the riders embarked on their journey from Danteshwari Temple in Jagdalpur, passing through Kurandi, Gumlawada and Koleng, and reaching Tirathgarh. Subsequently, on June 19, they continued their journey from Tirathgarh and reached the famous Chitrakote Falls, passing through Dantewada, Barsur, and Korlapal. As part of the event’s closing ceremony, the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board organized a workshop on wellness tourism, aimed at promoting the benefits of millets such as Kodo, Kutki, and Ragi, as well as providing detailed information about the local cuisine. Shri Vijay Sharma conducted the workshop, sharing comprehensive knowledge about these grains and dishes.
