Hyderabad: Food safety violation reported at Sodexo’s central production unit

Hyderabad: Several food safety violations under the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 have been reported by the teams of Food Safety Commissioner at the Central Production Unit of Sodexo India Services Pvt Ltd at Hitec City, Kondapur. At the Central Production Unit of Sodexo India Services Pvt Ltd, food safety teams reported house fly infestation on raw material in the reception area, food material was left open in the kitchen, blood from packed raw meat was dripping in the chiller room and food waste was found accumulated in the kitchen drains at several places. Packets of paneer weighing 16 kg which did not have proper date of package were found and were thrown away. Some other food safety violations found by the inspection teams include food items kept in plastic trays stored on the floor in cold storage, stains found on the floor at some places in the kitchen and grinding area, floor was wet due to food waste in the grinding area and no proper gap was left between the wall and storage racks to ensure cleanliness.
