TPL Season 5: Sonu Sood appointed as brand ambassador of Mumbai Lions Army
Mumbai (IANS). The Mumbai Lyon Army franchise of the Tennis Premier League (TPL) has signed Sonu Sood as its brand ambassador ahead of TPL season 5.
Last season’s finalists Mumbai Lions Army are roping in a Bollywood star to generate more interest in the league and team from fans across the country.
Diamond baron Shyam Patel, the owner of the Mumbai franchise, spoke about Sonu Sood coming on board ahead of season five of TPL.
He said, “Sonu Sood is a well-known and good person apart from being a talented actor and filmmaker. Sonu believes in the power of sport to transform lives and as a franchise we are proud to have him be a part of the Mumbai Lions Army. His presence will surely take our team to new heights.”
After being appointed as the brand ambassador, Sonu Sood said that he is excited to be a part of Mumbai Lions Army and Tennis Premier League.
Tennis Premier League is a great tournament. The league has already helped the tennis community in India grow exponentially in the last four seasons. I am happy to be a part of the Mumbai Lions Army and the entire league. I hope my presence in the team dugout will help them win the trophy in the fifth season of the league.
All the matches of the league will consist of men’s singles, women’s singles, mixed doubles and men’s doubles and there will be 80 points at stake, 20 points in each category.
Each team will play in the league stage for a total of 400 points (80 points x 5 matches). All the matches of the Tennis Premier League will be played at the Balewadi Stadium in Pune.
