Trader arrested with junk worth Rs 50 lakh, used to buy stolen goods
Manendragarh Chirmiri Bharatpur: As Chhattisgarh Assembly elections are approaching, along with political parties, the police is also becoming active. Along with checking vehicles, miscreants and thieves are being caught at various places. In this connection, Manendragarh Police took a major action.
Manendragarh police station Kotwali of MCB district arrested Chunmun alias Niazuddin on charges of buying stolen goods. On the behest of the accused, the police searched his warehouse. Where a large quantity of four wheelers, two wheelers and chopped parts of JCB were found. The entire encounter was one of theft. Due to which the accused could not show any kind of documents regarding the goods. The police confiscated all the goods filled in the warehouse. 15 tonnes of iron scrap including iron cutting machines and gas cylinders were recovered. The total cost of which was estimated to be around Rs 50 lakh.
Manendragarh police arrested the accused and presented him in the court. From where he has been sent to jail on judicial remand. Despite the police continuously taking action against the scrap mafia, the scrap dealers are not desisting from buying and selling stolen goods.
