Tragic death of 4 forest workers in a horrific road accident
Rishikesh. A horrific accident took place on Monday evening on Chilla Road in Rishikesh. Four forest personnel including a ranger and deputy ranger died in the accident. Five people are also said to be injured. Ranger Shailesh Ghildiyal is included in the dead. Shailesh Ghildyal is the brother of Mangesh Ghildyal posted in PMO. After the accident, the warden of Rajaji National Park is also not known. It is being told that the forest personnel were trialling the new vehicle received by the department. During the trial in Chilla range, the car collided with the divider and overturned due to a tire burst. A total of 10 people were traveling in the new vehicle of the Forest Department. After receiving the news of the accident, forest officials left for the spot. The injured have been brought to Rishikesh AIIMS.
After the accident, a wave of mourning ran in the forest department. Along with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Forest Minister Subodh Uniyal has also expressed condolences. Rajaji National Park Director Saket Badola said that the warden was promoted to SDO a few months ago. It is hoped that the missing warden will be found soon. The administration has released the list of those who lost their lives and those injured in the accident. PCCF Wildlife Sameer Sinha told that a new vehicle had arrived in the department. Employees and officers had gone to the spot to test the vehicle. Two promising range officers along with two employees were lost in the accident. A senior officer is still missing. The department is with the family in their hour of mourning. The bodies of the deceased have been sent to AIIMS for post-mortem. The Forest Department team is busy searching for the missing warden of Rajaji National Park. Police will take necessary action after investigation.
