Tragic death of 4 students due to stampede in university
Kerala : A major accident occurred during a music concert on Saturday at CUSAT University, Kochi, Kerala. Four students died in the stampede in the university. While many students have been injured. Health Minister Veena George said that this accident happened during a concert of Nikhita Gandhi.
At least four students were killed in a stampede-like situation during a technology fest at Kochi University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) on Saturday. The incident occurred during a concert organized by Nikhita Gandhi which was held in an open auditorium on the campus. The dead have not been identified yet. But two of them were reportedly girls and the other two were boys.
There was a huge crowd inside the concert hall due to heavy rain at the venue. Hundreds of students have been admitted to hospitals in injured condition. At least 46 students have been admitted to the Medical College Hospital in Kalamassery, while others are undergoing treatment in private hospitals in the city. Entry to the concert was reportedly restricted to entry passes. However, the situation went out of control after it rained and people waiting outside entered the auditorium to take shelter and a stampede broke out.
