Tragic Demise of Odisha soldier at Indo-China border
Bhubaneswar: In a recent incident, a Indian soldier from Odisha left for his heavenly abode on August 5. Rajeev Nayak served at the China border in Sikkim under ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police). He succumbed to a cardiac arrest while being on duty.
Nayak hailed from Baneikala village under the limits of Bisoi Police station in Rairangpur sub-district of Mayurbhanj.
The Odia soldier who died, the son of Gopala Nayak was a brave Indian soldier who had dedicatedly served the nation and was known for his dedication and commitment.
His body was flown to the Biju Patnaik International Airport, with all military honors. A guard of honor and gun salute were also rendered by the Indian army in honor of their fallen soldier.
Rajeev is survived by his elderly parents, wife and three children including two daughters and a son.
Rajeev’s family members and the villagers bid an emotional goodbye to the soldier. His last rites were performed adhering to the family’s customs, traditions, and rituals.
