Tripura: ‘Khelo Dharmanagar’ sports program organized by Dharmanagar Municipal Council
The sports program named ‘Khelo Dharmanagar’ has started in Dharmanagar from December 16, 2023. Tripura Legislative Assembly Speaker Vishwabandhu Sen inaugurated the month-long event organized at the BBI grounds under the initiative of Dharmanagar Municipal Council.
On this occasion, he said that it is possible to present a new Dharmanagar to the people of the state through the Clean Dharmanagar, Green Dharmanagar programme. Today, there has been a lot of progress in the field of religious education, law and order as well as sports. In this month long sports program, a total of 18 competitions will be organized including Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton, Kabaddi, Table Tennis, Carrom, Chess, Yoga, the competition will be organized in both men and women categories.
Cash prizes will be given to the winners. For organizing this sports program, approximately Rs 5 lakh will be spent from the Legislative Area Development Fund on behalf of Tripura Legislative Assembly Speaker Vishwabandhu Sen.
Dharmanagar Municipal Council Chairman Pradyut De Sarkar, Vice Chairman Manju Nath, in-charge SDM Shyamjoy Jamatia, Deputy Director of Youth Affairs and Sports Department Amit Kumar Yadav and philanthropist Shyamal Nath were also present at the inauguration of this month-long sports program.
