TTD to organize Ugadi Asthanam on April 9
Tirupati: Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will host the grand festival of Ugadi Asthanam at Srivari temple on April 9.
The festival will begin with Suprabhatam, purification and special dedication to Sri Malayappa Swami and his associates, followed by a procession with Vimana Parakaram, offering of new silk to Mula Virata, Pachanga Shravan and Ugadi Asthana in Bangaru Vakili. All Arjita services like Astadala Padmasa, Kalyanotsavam, Unjal Seva and Arjita Brahmotsavam will be canceled for that day. In view of the Koli Alvar Thirumanjanam at Srivari Temple in connection with Telugu Ugadi on April 9, TTD has canceled the VIP break on April 2.
To prepare for Ugadi Asthanam on April 9, Koil Alvar Thirumanjanam will be held at Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple in Tirupati on April 4. Thirumanjanam will be held from 7 am to 9 am on Thursday. After purifying the temple premises, walls, ceiling and worship material with water, holy water mixed with spices will be spread throughout the temple. Devotees will be allowed darshan from 9.30 am.
To commemorate the 521st birth anniversary of Telugu poetry patriarch Sri Thallapaka Annamacharya, a grand Melotsavam will be organized at Alipiri Pada Mandapam, Tirupati on April 4 under the aegis of TTD Annamacharya Project.
Artists of Annamacharya Project and bhajan troupes will present Annamacharya’s ‘Saptagiri Sankirtan Gosthi’ from 6 am, followed by Metlapuja. After this, the bhajan singers will climb Tirumala on foot while singing Sankirtan. Bhajan Mandal artists from across the state will participate in this program.
As part of Annamacharya’s birth anniversary celebrations, a Gosthigaanam and musical program will be organized at Narayanagiri Gardens in Tirumala on April 5.
