Two accused of using explosive substance in the village arrested
Mahasamund. Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh (IPS) and Additional Superintendent of Police Mr. Akash Rao Girepunje and Sub-Divisional Officer Bagbahra Dr. Ulandon York have directed all the police stations/in-charges of the district to prevent criminal activities in view of the upcoming assembly elections. At night, the applicant Gajendra Sahu, father Radheshyam Sahu, aged 28 years, of Sakin Temri police station, Komakhan district, Mahasamund, was sleeping in his house with his family. At around 01:30 in the night, a very loud sound of firecracker bursting came from behind his house, then the applicant came to his senses. Climbing on the roof of the house, he saw the place of explosion behind the house, there was smoke, there was a smell like firecracker gunpowder, then the applicant went behind his house and saw that the pillar of the house was broken and the plaster had fallen off and the bathroom inside the house was in ruins. The tiles and false ceiling of the puja room had fallen on the spot.
The explosion would certainly have caused serious injury to someone if it had been there. On the basis of the report of this entire incident, which was informed to the senior officers by the police station in-charge, crime number 123/2023, section 436 IPC 3,5 Explosive Substances Act 1908 was registered and investigated in police station Komakhan. During the investigation, the applicant and the surrounding people were interrogated and during the interrogation it was revealed that the applicant had a dispute regarding land in the month of October 2023 and a day before, Manoj Kumar Thakur’s father Indal Thakur had come near the applicant’s house. He went and was disputing about land related matters, on which, based on the report of the applicant, preventive action was taken against Indal Thakur at Komakhan police station.
The crime committed earlier is being investigated by setting up a counter crime in police station Komakhan. After observing the same crime, it was found that Manoj alias Punna Lal Thakur and Balkumar Thakur, who are residents of village Temri, were staying at their house since the date of the incident. I am not there and Balkumar Thakur who is not coming out of his house. After both the persons were found suspicious, Manoj Thakur was found in the village Lukupali of Orissa, who was strictly interrogated, who told that he had worked with Balkumar Thakur and Radheshyam, using the material used in the incident (gunpowder, wire, electric wire). Told to blast Sahu’s house. The festival of Punni Mela was being celebrated in village Temri on 27-10-2023 by the said accused who had gone to watch the rural cultural program. When the said accused were deserted and got the right time, they went behind the house of the applicant and detonated the said explosive material. The above two accused were taken into police custody and information is being taken from both the accused about other associates who helped them in the use and availability of explosives. This entire operation was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Dharmendra Singh (IPS), Additional Superintendent of Police Akash Rao Girepunje and Sub-Divisional Officer Bagbahra Dr. Ulaidan York, Police Station Incharge Komakhan Ramavatar Patel, Outpost Tohlu Incharge Rajeev Nahar, Sauni. Shivprasad Singh, constable Panchram Jagade, Shankar Thakur, Junaid Khan, Danveer Thakur have made special contributions.
