Two arrested including PWD employee who blackmailed SDO
Janjgir. Saying that the SDO of PWD had a complaint with senior officials, an elderly man demanded Rs 2 lakh to settle the matter. He threatened the SDO to give him the money to settle, otherwise his complaint would be investigated and he would lose his job. He told the SDO that he would be of no use. On the report of the SDO, the police have registered the crime and arrested two accused and sent them to jail. One of the accused is a daily wage worker of PWD, who has been thrown out by the department. ASP Anil Soni told that Janjgir SDO Dalganjan Sai of Public Works Department had received a WhatsApp message from an unknown mobile number at around 3 pm on July 8.
On the second day, on 9th July, an unknown person called himself as the PA of a senior officer of the police department. The said PA said that a complaint of corruption against him has been received by his senior officer. If the complaint is investigated, the SDO’s job will be lost. The person calling himself PA demanded two lakh rupees to set the case. SDO gave this information to SP Vijay Aggarwal. Later he lodged an FIR. Police reached both the accused Dilip Supkar and his associate Gangesaranand Jagat with the help of cyber cell on the basis of the phone number given by the accused.
