Two college students found dead near railway tracks
Chennai: Two college students were found dead near the railway tracks in Melmaruvathur on Thursday morning. Chengalpattu Railway Police received information in the morning that bodies of two youths were found near the railway track between Acharpakkam-Melmaruvathur.
Police soon reached the spot, recovered the bodies and sent them to Chengalpattu. Police found a mobile number in their pant pocket and based on that, police identified the deceased as Annamedi Sai Venkat Saket (20) and Sai Sakthi (20) of East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh and EEE third grader in a private engineering Was studying for year. Police said the two were staying in a college hostel and three days ago they had hired a bike from a private firm and traveled to Pondicherry.
The students had hired bikes saying they were going to Chennai, but instead went to Pondicherry. The private company that had given them the bike found with the help of GPS that they were in Pondicherry and contacted the students over phone and asked them to return the bike immediately.
However, the students had parked the bike in a parking lot in Pondicherry and returned to Chennai by train and were found dead on Thursday morning. Police have registered a case and are investigating how the students died and the post-mortem report is awaited.
