Two hybrid terrorists arrested in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla
Srinagar (IANS). The Jammu and Kashmir Police along with other security forces have arrested two hybrid terrorists of the banned terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). Officials said on Wednesday and arms and ammunition have been recovered from their possession.
Police said, “On specific information about the movement of terrorists in Baramulla town, a joint team of Police, Army (46RR) and CRPF (53 Bn) had set up a vehicle check post at Azadganj Old Town, Baramulla. During the operation, two suspicious persons were intercepted, who tried to flee, but were cleverly apprehended.
They have been identified as Faisal Majeed Gani, a resident of Bungalow Bagh, Baramulla and Noorul Kamran Gani, a resident of Bagh-e-Islam Old Town, Baramulla.
A pistol and a magazine from his possession; four live bullets from the pistol; and incriminating material, arms and other ammunition including a grenade were recovered.
“He has been arrested and sent to custody at a police station,” police said.
Officials said, “During preliminary investigation, it was revealed that both are hybrid terrorists and are affiliated with banned terrorist outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba. They had procured arms and ammunition to carry out terrorist activities in Baramulla town in view of the upcoming Independence Day.” Ammunition was collected.
