Two innocent children died due to drowning

Bilaspur. The process of death due to illegal mining in Bilaspur is not stopping. On Sunday, two innocent children died due to drowning in Murum’s illegally dug pond in the evening. Abhishek, the 13-year-old son of Ravi Bachekar, who lives in Atal Awas of Rajkishore Nagar, had come to his relative’s house in Shyam Nagar Lingiadih on Sunday. From here he went out for a walk with Dilip Ahirwar’s son Ishaan (12).

While wandering, both the children reached Bahtarai-Bijaur road. During this, both the children went down to bathe in the pond made from the pit of Murum mine. Due to the depth, both the children drowned. On July 17 also, three girls had died due to illegal sand digging in Arpa river, which is still under investigation.

The relatives of the dead girls and the villagers had alleged that Congress leader Rajendra Sahu and his relatives were continuously extracting sand illegally from the river. People are dying by drowning in pits made from illegal mining. The villagers present at the spot had complained to the authorities and demanded action. The officers had also assured to take action in the matter. The High Court has also taken cognizance of this case and started hearing. Even after this, no action has been taken in this matter till now.
