Two killed in stampede at religious event
Patna: A stampede broke out during a religious program in Chhapra city of Bihar on Friday morning. In which two female devotees died and many others were injured. More than a hundred devotees had gathered for ‘Gayatri Yagya’ in Masti Chak area. As soon as the gate of the Yagya opened, devotees started entering inside carelessly, leading to a stampede.
On receiving the information, the district administration swung into action and rescued the victims. Two unconscious women were taken to the hospital where doctors declared them brought dead.
Saran District Magistrate Amar Sameer said, “This is not any kind of stampede. More than a hundred people tried to enter the premises simultaneously.
Some of them fell and were crushed by others. Two of the injured women were taken to the hospital, where they died.
