Two MLAs from erstwhile Karimnagar in the new state cabinet
Karimnagar: Two deputies of Parliament, Dudilla Sridhar Babu and Ponnam Prabhakar from the old district of Karimnagar, have been assured of berths in the newly formed state cabinet.
While Sridhar Babu was elected from the electoral district of Manthani, Prabhakar represented the Husnabad region. Both took oath as cabinet ministers after Congress legislature party leader A Revanth Reddy was sworn in as the new minister of the state.
Later, Sridhar Babu and Prabhakar were assigned the portfolio of finance and welfare ministries of Columbia Britannica respectively. When Sridhar Babu was the Minister of Civil and Legislative Affairs in the Congress regime in old Andhra Pradesh, Prabhakar got his first opportunity.
Sridhar Babu, a five-time MLA, entered politics after the death of his father and former President Dudilla Sripada Rao and was elected MLA for the first time in 1999 and continued his winning streak in 2004, 2009, 2018 and 2023. , The 2014 elections were celebrated after the formation of the separate state Telangana.
Prabhakar, who actively participated in student union activities, entered electoral politics and was elected deputy from Karimnagar in the 2009 parliamentary elections. He had lost the 2018 MLA elections in Karimnagar assembly constituency. In the 2023 elections, he passed through the electoral district of Husnabad and won the election.
Apart from being the State President of NSUI AP, he also served as the President of AP Markfed.
