Patna: In Patna, the capital of Bihar, two sisters, Tarana Khatoon and Roshni Khatoon, who originally hail from Siwan, fell in love with each other and subsequently decided to marry. Their family strongly disapproved of their relationship, prompting the two sisters to seek protection at the women’s police station.
At the police station, they made it clear that they had married each other and intended to live together as a couple. Despite efforts by their family to reconcile with them, the girls remained steadfast in their decision. A high-voltage drama ensued at the Mahila police station, persisting for several hours.
Exhausted and weary, the family eventually left the girls at the police station. Additionally, Siwan Police officers arrived at the Patna police station and requested protection for the girls.
Ramanuj Ram, the Women’s Police Officer, stated that Tarana Khatoon and Roshni Khatoon had submitted a written application at the Mahila Police Station, seeking protection. They explained that they were in a lesbian relationship and wished to live together, emphasizing the need for protection from their family.
Following this, both girls were counseled at the police station, during which they reiterated their stance as adults who were unwilling to return to their parents. Subsequently, they were asked to complete a Personal Recognizance (PR) bond, and further actions will be taken accordingly.
