Tynsong accused VPP of behaving like Taliban

Criticizing the VPP for its politics of hate, Tynsong said, “I have seen their speeches. First of all, they talk about secularism and pluralism but during the campaign, in their actions I have seen that they are like a group that has taken over Afghanistan, which we call Taliban group. Afghanistan is currently ruled by the Taliban group and what is happening in Afghanistan, you will see that there are restrictions on the media, where they are not allowed to report anything. Moreover, girls are also not allowed to go to school after matriculation.”

“And the issue that concerns me the most is the mentality and mindset of the VPP leaders because those who dare to call others wrong and they are the only righteous people, this in itself is an indication that something is not right with them. Is. So, people have to keep it in mind because it is very serious, especially the way they are campaigning,” he said.
His statement comes two days after the VPP was served a show cause notice for attempting to disrupt the election campaigns of the National People’s Party (NPP).

Criticizing the VPP for talking big, Tynsong said, “They think only Khasi or Hyniewtrep people can take the state forward, but I think this is not the time for them to speak because One gentleman has rightly said that this party is only a district-wise party based in the East Khasi Hills, because they do not have a base in the Garo Hills.
He also challenged the VPP and said, “If you think your party is so strong, then why don’t you field candidates in Garo Hills. Why did you not field any candidate? It means you want to focus only on Khasi and Jaintia Hills and then you talk so big like you can rule the entire state of Meghalaya just because you love Zaidbinreev.

“But I tell you that when we talk about secularism and pluralism, see, Meghalaya cannot even generate 10 per cent revenue and that is why we have to completely depend on the central government. It is fine if any political party is ruling at the Centre, but for the North-Eastern states except Assam, which has been able to cross 20-25 per cent revenue generation, we will see the North-Eastern states completely getting revenue, schemes from the Centre. , have to depend on money. Government. So, stop talking big because it is meaningless as I said we have seen and we have tried our best to improve our revenue generation but there is no way. If we talk about industries, we have no big industries except a few cement factories and there is no scope for expansion. This is an issue we are facing,” he said.

Urging the people not to get misled by such a political party, the NPP chief also predicted that the VPP is a party which will disappear from Meghalaya any time.

“Therefore, people should not get misled, they should not be fooled because when new political parties speak, it seems that they can touch the sky but within a short time even their trace will be erased, I am not like that.” Jokingly, even its name will be erased as was the case with other (new political parties), it (VPP) will also disappear any time,” he said.
