Unclaimed liquor worth lakhs found in the forest
Mohalla. The first phase of voting will be held in Chhattisgarh on Tuesday. On election day, FST and police teams conducted a major operation and seized 1,715 pounds of British and rural liquor. FST teams based in the district achieved this success in connection with the local council elections. Liquor was hidden in bags in the forest on Panabaras Parvedi Road to be distributed to voters. Police said that they received information from the caller that a huge quantity of liquor was hidden in the forest.
According to the press release, the FST team led by SP Ratna Singh and a joint team of Mora police station searched the forest along the Panabaras-Palvidhi road. Sacks of unclaimed English and country liquor were seized in the fields and forests. In this bag, 455 paua country liquor and 1260 paua English whiskey liquor worth Rs 187600 were recovered. Police have registered a case against unknown accused under Indirect Tax Act No. 34(2). 159/2023 is being searched for the accused.
