Under road safety, the department will distribute knowledge on traffic rules to the drivers
Shimla. PWD has decided to give awareness message under road safety. Drivers will be given information about safe traffic at different places for ten days. The road safety program will begin on Friday. PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh will give information about departmental work on this occasion.
PWD Chief Engineer Captain SP Jagota said that the main objective of this campaign is to prevent road accidents. Apart from this, departmental officers and employees will also be made aware in this campaign about the places where accidents happen frequently.
He said that during this period, PWD and Transport Department will also give a message to the drivers to drive within the prescribed speed limit. The maximum speed limit on state highways is set at 40 kilometers per hour, while on four lanes the speed limit is set at 60 kilometers per hour.
In this regard, a big effort is going to be made through the road safety programme. For this, Umesh Sharma, head of the engineering department at PU, will give a message of awareness. Captain SP Jagota said that PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh and Chief Engineer Ajay Gupta will also be present in this program on Friday.
