UP government presented second supplementary budget

The government led by Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh presented on Wednesday in the State Assembly the supplementary budget of 26.760.67 million rupees for the financial year 2023-24.

The supplementary budget was presented in the House by the State Finance Minister, Suresh Khanna, on the second day of the winter session.

In this supplementary budget the Government has made provisions for many new projects.

While presenting the supplementary budget, Khanna said that the size of the proposed supplementary budget for the financial year 2023-24 is 26.760.67 million rupees.

Within this, the expenditure on the income account is of 19,46,39 million rupees and the expenditure on the capital account is of 9,714 million rupees.

The supplementary demand proposal covers proposals for a new demand totaling 7.421.21 million rupees, including proposals worth 21.339.46 million rupees for plans in progress.

Additionally, the supplementary budget includes provisions for farmers, allocating 900 million rupees for free electricity to farmers and 400 million rupees for compensation quotas for sugar cane farmers.

Additionally, in the supplementary budget there are provisions for the development of the state capital region.

The budget has an allocation of 2.000 million rupees for Vishwakarma Shram Samman Yojana.

510 million rupees for the establishment of the mega integrated textile zone and PM’s clothing park in Lucknow-Hardoi in the framework of the PM Mitra plan and 100 million rupees for the implementation of the policy of data centers in Uttar Pradesh. Pradesh.

Meanwhile, with the entry into force of a new set of rules that prohibit legislators from carrying phones, political placards or flags in the Assembly of Uttar Pradesh, the members of the Samajwadi Party (SP) continued their protests against the government also in the second The day of the session looking black. , clothes.

Shivpal Singh Yadav, national general secretary of the SP and veteran leader of the party, has expressed significant concerns about the supplementary budget of the Yogi government.

Shivpal said that more than 50 percent of the budget allocated to any department of the state has not been utilized.

The government was accused of being obsessed with the numbers without effective implementation.

The SP chief, Akhilesh Yadav, questioned whether the government would buy wheat or let private companies take charge of the purchases.

Highlight that the Goods and Services Tax (GST) on agricultural equipment oscillates between 12 percent and 18 percent.

Akhilesh Yadav also said that the government, with its dual power structure, would reduce GST to support farmers or provide assistance directly to the state treasury.
