US Ambassador visited Elephant and Bear Conservation Center with his family
Agra. US Ambassador to India Eric Michael Garcetti and his family visited Wildlife SOS’s Elephant Conservation and Care Center and Agra Bear Conservation Center in Agra and Mathura. During this, he learned about the wildlife conservation work of the organization and the rescued elephants and sloth bears. He also extended his support to the NGO’s Refuse to Ride campaign.
Eric Michael Garcetti is an American politician who is the US Ambassador to India. He has also served as Mayor of Los Angeles. His nomination as US Ambassador to India was made by US President Joe Biden. Along with her family, she witnessed the routine treatment and laser therapy of Ginger the elephant at the Wildlife SOS Elephant Hospital.
Watched a training session with elephant Lakshmi at the Elephant Conservation and Care Centre. Learn about the health problems faced by captive elephants. Met specialist doctors for the treatment of injured and old elephants. Saw the sloth bears living at the Bear Conservation Center. Learn about their care and rehabilitation. He also planted a sapling in Hathi Hospital.
Eric Garcetti participated in an interactive session with the NGO’s team, including the staff and veterinarians who care for Asian elephants, to improve the well-being of the animals and gain knowledge about Asian elephants. He also met forest department and police officials at both the centres.
