Use of sound amplifier will be banned in these areas
Narayanpur: In compliance with the order passed on 20 November 2023 in the case WPPIL No. 88/2023 of the High Court of Chhattisgarh, Bilaspur, in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 5 (2) and Section 10 (2) of the Noise Control Act, 1985, the Collector and the District Magistrate Noise Control Act has been implemented by Ajit Vasant. A radius of 100 meters from hospitals, educational institutions, courts, religious institutions has been declared as quiet zone.
Under Rules 3 (1) and 4 (1) of the Noise Control Act 2000, the limits of ambient noise level have been determined for different areas, which include industrial, commercial, residential and quiet areas. Firecrackers should not be burst at least 100 meters away from quiet areas, hospitals, educational institutions, courts, religious institutions etc. Use of pressure horn or musical horn or any other type of sound amplifier will be prohibited within a distance of 100 meters from them.
In industrial area 75 dB during day time, 70 dB during night time, in commercial area 65 dB during day time, 55 dB during night time, in residential area 55 dB during day time, 45 dB during night time and in quiet area 50 dB during day time. And the noise limit at night has been set at 40 dB. Day time i.e. 6 am to 10 pm and night time i.e. 10 pm to 6 am will be applicable. Violation of the said order will be punishable under Section 15 of the Act. This order will be effective immediately.
