The central government is betraying Tamil Nadu: Trichy Siva alleged in the Rajya Sabha.

Tamil Nadu: DMK group leader in the Rajya Sabha, Trichy Siva, alleged that despite Tamil Nadu’s progress in several sectors, the state is being consistently betrayed by the central government.

On Tuesday, the Rajya Sabha debated the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address to the joint session of Parliament.

Trichy Siva said: “But, we are being neglected because we are not part of the ruling alliance. Coimbatore and Madurai have not been given the Metro Rail project. This is sheer discrimination. Do you have any genuine reason for stalling our infrastructure development?

Tamil Nadu’s state GDP is 11.19 percent, and the state’s contribution to the national GDP is 9.2%. According to budget estimates, we should have received ₹58,000 crore. But we have received only ₹21,000 crore.

For central government schemes, we were supposed to receive ₹23,000 crore, but we have received only ₹7,302 crore. The central government says it will release funds for the schemes only if the new education policy is implemented and accepted. We will not bow down to this. We will continue to fight,” Trichy Siva said.

Permission denied to raise the Governor’s issue

When Trichy Siva attempted to raise the issue of the Governor’s walkout from the Tamil Nadu Assembly, Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh, who was presiding over the House, said that according to the rules, the Governor’s issue cannot be raised in the House. Following this, Trichy Siva, without naming the Governor, but referring to him as the head of the state, drew the House’s attention to his recent actions.
