Vidhu Vinod Chopra: He was offered ₹10 lakh to change the ‘unconventional’ ending of Parinda

12th Fail director Vidhu Vinod Chopra recently recalled an incident from his early filmmaking career when he was almost ready to make a major change in his story, but he refused to do so. The filmmaker was talking about his upcoming release Barhavi Fail in conversation with film critic and Galatta editor Baradwaj Rangan when he recalled an incident during the making of his 1989 film Parinda. The 12th Fail director, who till then had only directed experimental low-budget films like Saza-e-Maut and Khamoshi, had to face many challenges while shooting Parinda with big stars like Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff.
