Vigilance caught red handed taking bribe, case registered
Jawali. The team of State Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau Dharamshala has arrested a bill clerk working in the Public Works Department Jawali office red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs 500 and registered a case against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
SP Vigilance Balbir Thakur said that the accused Kailash Chand, son of Lekhu Ram, resident of Noorpur, is working as a bill clerk in the Public Works Department, Jawali.
He was demanding bribe in lieu of payment of GIS fund from retired driver Baljit Singh, resident of Haripur, on which Baljit Singh had complained in this regard in Vigilance Office Dharamshala.
On Wednesday, the Vigilance team laid a trap and caught the clerk red handed while taking a bribe of Rs 500. The clerk has been arrested. He told that Baljeet Singh has retired in the year 2020. SP Vigilance Balveer Thakur said that a case has been registered in this regard and the accused has been arrested and further action is being taken.
