Vijayakanth will preside over the DMDK general council meeting on December 14

Chennai: DMDK president and general secretary ‘Captain’ Vijayakanth will chair the party’s general council meeting on December 14.

“The party’s general council meeting is scheduled to be held on Thursday, December 14 at 8.45 am at the GPN Palace Wedding Hall in Thiruverkadu, Chennai. It will be presided over by party supremo Captain Vijayakanth. Party treasurer Premalatha Vijayakanth will discuss the meeting with other office-bearers, members Discussed the party’s future plans with him and delivered the keynote address,” a DMDK statement said.

This announcement comes after Vijaykant was discharged from a private hospital on Monday. “Vijayakanth, who is undergoing treatment at MIOT Hospital, has fully recovered and has returned home,” an official statement from a private hospital said.

The 71-year-old leader was admitted to a private hospital on November 18 due to ill health.

Later on November 30, the hospital said in a statement that the former MLA was put on pulmonary support after his health deteriorated slightly during treatment.

Vijayakanth’s health has been a matter of concern since 2016 and he has not been a part of political activities since then. Earlier during the treatment, his fans and well-wishers had prayed for his speedy recovery.
