Village head built toilet on temple land, demands investigation and action against development officer
Mau: Angered by the construction of a public toilet by the village head on the land of Thakur Ram Janaki temple located in Gram Sabha Yusufpur of Kopaganj development block of Mau district, the villagers have given a leaflet to the Chief Development Officer and demanded investigation and action.
The matter pertains to the temple of Thakur ji (Ramjanaki) located in Yusufpur of the block. The land is mentioned in the name of Thakur Maharaj in Khatauni. To which respected people had donated their land to Thakur ji. The village head himself collects money from Thakur ji’s land. It is alleged that a Brahmin lived in the temple, they drove him away and took the entire land under their control.
On January 14, when devotees gathered to clean the temple, everyone got enraged after seeing the public toilet. During this time somehow the matter calmed down. The villagers alleged that a pit had been dug after marking the land for a public toilet in the middle of the village, but the village head fraudulently got the illegal construction done in the temple land.
Regarding the matter, villagers including Piyush Rai, Sumer Rajbhar, Bhim Rajbhar, Shivlochan Rajbhar gave a leaflet containing signatures to the Chief Development Officer and demanded investigation and action
