Voters above 80 years of age are voting from home
Kondagaon: The teams engaged in election duty are making voters above 80 years of age reach their homes and vote today. As per the instructions of Collector and District Election Officer Deepak Soni, 80+ voters are being made to vote across the district today. A photo of the team’s employee reaching home and voting in village Ondri of Makdi block has surfaced.
In the same assembly constituency number 84 Narayanpur, elderly people above 80 years of age and disabled people are participating in building democracy by voting through postal ballot. This year, the Election Commission of India has provided the facility of postal ballot for voters above 80 years of age, under which the elderly and disabled voters are especially getting the facility. 91 year old Vijayadevi Surana, a veteran of Chandni Chowk, part number 53 of Narayanpur assembly constituency number 84, exercised her franchise through postal ballot.
