Voting will take place in this village after 75 years, know where?
Bastar: The first phase of voting in Chhattisgarh will be held on November 7, which includes 20 seats. Voting will be held for the first time after 75 years of independence in Naxal-affected Chandameta village situated at the extreme end of Bastar district. After decades, the district administration team is freeing the villagers from the fear of Naxal and making them aware to participate in this great festival of democracy. On one hand, there is enthusiasm among the villagers about voting, on the other hand, there is an atmosphere of happiness in the families of the villagers who were imprisoned for the last many years in Naxal cases after their release.
In fact, more than 25 villagers of Chandameta village were serving jail sentence for the last few years on the charges of being Naxalite collaborators. After a long trial, 16 out of 25 villagers were released after they were proven innocent. Everyone has returned to their homes. Along with this, the court process is also going on for the release of other villagers.
