Waqf Amendment Bill introduced in Lok Sabha, opposition raised objection

New Delhi: Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju has introduced the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 in the Lok Sabha. Congress has objected to this. On behalf of the opposition, KC Venugopal has objected to this and said that this is an attack on religion and fundamental rights given by the Constitution.

Congress MP KC Venugopal objected to the Waqf Bill and said that this is a violation of the right to religious freedom given by the Constitution. This bill is an attack on fundamental rights. He questioned whether there is any non-Hindu in the Ayodhya temple, has any non-Hindu been kept in the committee of any temple. Venugopal said that Waqf is also a religious institution. This is an attempt to divide the society.
