Was scared to shoot the climax of ‘Sahasa Veerudu Sagar Kanya’: Shilpa Shetty
New Delhi (IANS). Actress Shilpa Shetty recalled shooting for her Telugu film Sahasa Veerudu Sagar Kanya, in which she played a mermaid, and said she was scared to shoot the climax since she is hydrophobic.
India’s Got Talent Season 10 showcases a stellar performance from ‘Surya Archery Academy’, which takes the art of archery to a whole new level. Impressed by the young talent, judge Shilpa Shetty said, “What an amazing talent at this age. You are our future Olympian.”
Making it a memorable moment for Shilpa, the ‘Surya Archery Academy’ duo will reveal how Shilpa aka ‘Sagar Kanya’ is their favorite judge.
Overwhelmed to hear this, Shilpa said, “It’s been almost 20-25 years since we shot this film and famous director K. Raghavendra Rao offered me the role of Jalpari.”
“I told him I can’t swim. We shot the entire film in Vizag, and I had to shoot the climax in water, which scared me because I’m hydrophobic. I don’t know how I managed to shoot it, I’m not sure yet (laughs).”
Sahasa Veerudu Sagar Kanya is a 1996 Indian Telugu film directed by K. Raghavendra Rao has done. It starred Venkatesh, Shilpa Shetty and Malashri, while the music was composed by M. M. Keeravani.
The film was dubbed in Tamil as ‘Kanavu Kanni’ and in Hindi as ‘Sagar Kanya’. Shilpa played the role of Jalpari Bangaram.
Judge Badshah also praised the little girls and said that the way the girls have dressed and represented their culture is very beautiful.
Reflecting the spirit of ‘Vijayi Vishwa Hunar Hamara’, the show explores ‘Hunar’. The contestants have to impress the trio of judges Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Kirron Kher and Badshah to get the golden buzzer and secure their spot.
