Was selling liquor to customers near Dhaba, arrested

Raipur: Under the comprehensive campaign against drugs being run in the district by Senior Superintendent of Police Prashant Aggarwal, under the guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Rural Neeraj Chandrakar and supervision of City Superintendent of Police Mana Kalpana Verma, a separate case was registered against 02 accused in Police Station Mandir Hasaud. In a separate action, a total of 67 pav of illicit liquor worth Rs 7600/- was seized from the possession of the said accused.

In this connection, on the information of informer, illegal liquor was being sold by Bhanu Pratap Banjare near Shri Dhaba of village Gujra, then P.R. of Police Station Mandir Hasaud. 808 Dharmendra Verma along with Hamrah staff conducted a raid near Shri Dhaba of village Gujra and seized from the possession of accused Bhanupratap Banjare 24 pavs of illegal liquor English Crazy Romeo worth Rs 2880/- and 09 pavs of country liquor Plain worth Rs 720/- Jumla Rs 3600/- It was seized and action was taken against the accused under Section 34(2) of the Excise Act and he was sent to jail on remand.

Also, illegal liquor is being sold by Rupesh Yadav in village Kotrabantha, then P.R. of Police Station Mandir Hasaud. 475 Shantanu Banjare along with Hamrah staff conducted a raid in village Kotrabantha and seized 34 pav of illicit liquor, country liquor Mashala worth Rs. 3740/- and cash amount of sale of Rs. 260, totaling Rs. 4000/- from the possession of accused Rupesh Yadav. 34 (2) against the accused. Excise Act was registered, action was taken and he was sent to jail on remand.
