Water level of Mahanadi increased due to heavy rains, causing devastation
Raigarh. The water level of Mahanadi has increased due to continuous torrential rains in the state for the past one week. Due to which water has entered the villages situated around Mahanadi. Heavy rain has been recorded for three to four consecutive days. Due to this rain, life has also become disrupted. It should be noted that as soon as the month of Sawan ends, it is raining heavily in Chhattisgarh. Due to which Raigarh district has also not remained untouched. The water level of Mahanadi has increased due to continuous rains for the last one week. Water entered all the villages situated around Chandrapur, Sariya, Barmkela, Porath, Nadi village, Lipti, Tora, Bora, Parasrampur, Surajgarh.
Flood like situation has arisen and Chandrapur to Sariya Barmakela road is closed. A dozen villages have been affected by this rain. Gradually the water level is increasing. Alert has been issued in many villages. Like every year, this year also a flood like situation is created in the villages situated around Chandrapur. Due to water entering many villages, the education of school children is being affected. Whose information has been received. Farmers have also suffered loss of crops due to this heavy rain. According to information received from sources, after the opening of the gates of Hirakud Dam, the water level may reduce to some extent.
