Ghaziabad: The drinking water pipeline has burst in Indirapuram area of Ghaziabad, due to which lakhs of liters of water is being wasted and the road has become a pond. On one hand, people in Ghaziabad are facing water shortage after the closure of Ganga Canal, while on the other hand, water is being wasted continuously for many hours.
In Ghaziabad, while on one hand water is being supplied once in 24 hours, on the other hand due to burst pipeline lakhs of liters of water got flooded on the roads. Due to this the road turned into a river and many colonies were flooded. People allege that the negligence of GDA officials can be gauged from the fact that despite complaining about the burst pipeline in Indirapuram, no one came here to repair it.
Let us tell you that the water supply in Indirapuram comes under the Ghaziabad Development Authority. Water supply has been limited in most of the colonies of Ghaziabad. Whereas on normal days water is supplied twice – in the morning and evening, due to the cleaning of Ganganahar, water is being supplied once in 24 hours.
Water supply from Ganganahar has been stopped from 26th October. Now it will be restored only after November 14. Please note that cleaning work is going on in Ganganahar. Due to which water is being supplied in Ghaziabad once in 24 hours. For which GDA and Municipal Corporation together are providing water to the people through alternative arrangements, but on the other hand leakage of water is also a big problem. If water pipelines burst at various places and are not repaired on time, lakhs of liters of water gets wasted.
