Odisha: In Odisha, a pregnant woman gave birth to twins on the highway. The woman’s family had called an ambulance when she was in labor pain, but the ambulance was not found. After this, her family members started taking the woman suffering from labor pain to the hospital in a rented auto rickshaw. During that time the delivery took place on the way. According to the information, this incident took place in Kumuda village under Titlagarh police limits of Bolangir district of Odisha. The woman and her twin children are safe. Village woman Bindiya Sabar was suffering from labor pain. Her family members immediately called an ambulance, but the ambulance did not come. After this the family members hired an auto-rickshaw to take the woman to the hospital.
When the woman’s family members were taking her to the hospital, her labor pain intensified. After this, the women of the family covered themselves with a cloth on the side of the highway and the woman gave birth to twins. No Anganwadi or Asha worker was present during the delivery. The woman who gave birth to twins said that she had called for an ambulance, but no one came. After this, an attempt was made to call the Asha worker also, but she also did not come. With no other option, we were going to the hospital by auto-rickshaw when the delivery took place. At the time of reporting, the mother and newborn baby are healthy. However, no official comment has come from the administration in this matter.
