Why is Dev Diwali celebrated?
Dev Diwali; The festival of Dev Diwali is celebrated on the day of Kartik Purnima. This time Dev Diwali will be celebrated on 26th November. On these days, special puja is performed on the river bank and lamps made of flour are lit. But there is some confusion regarding whether Dev Diwali will be celebrated on 26th November or 27th November. Dev Diwali is celebrated after Chhoti Diwali and Badi Diwali. , If there is Krittika Nakshatra on this day then it is “Mahakartiki”. Why do Gods celebrate Diwali:
On the full moon day of Kartik month, Mahadev ji had killed the demon named Tripurasura, hence it is also called ‘Tripuri Purnima’.
All the gods heaved a sigh of relief after the killing of Tripurasura and to celebrate this, they gathered on the banks of Ganga and celebrated Diwali by lighting lamps.It is believed that Lord Vishnu’s Matsya incarnation took place in the evening on Kartik Purnima. Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Angira and Aditya have called it a great festival.
