On 7 September 1987, the United Nations General Assembly passed a resolution to celebrate International Drug Prohibition Day. Which was decided to be celebrated on 26 June and for the first time this day was celebrated on 26 June 1989. The main purpose of celebrating this day was to stop the illegal use of drugs. It also involves illegal smuggling and is played with people’s lives by spreading it across the globe. International Drug Prohibition Day is celebrated to free the youth from drugs.
