Will take strict action against propagation of fabricated terrorist narrative in Jammu and Kashmir: IGP
Srinagar. Jammu and Kashmir IGP V.K. Birdi on Wednesday said that strict action will be taken against those spreading fabricated terror narratives on social media platforms and disturbing peace. IGP Kashmir, while chairing a security review meeting in central Kashmir district Ganderbal, issued instructions for strict action against those violating the law. He also stressed the need for law enforcement agencies to be well prepared to respond quickly to any security incident.
He urged the authorities to intensify anti-terrorism operations and take strict action against individuals or organizations supporting anti-national activities. The IGP also analyzed the crime situation and special emphasis was laid on detecting crimes against women, the police said in a press statement. Police said the IGP has advised officers to ensure professional investigation in UAPA cases to ensure punishment of the accused and effectively deal with the terrorist eco-system. He has also directed police officers to intensify efforts to combat drug activities in the area. The IGP also expressed confidence in the collective efforts of the security apparatus to maintain public safety and ensure a safe environment for all citizens.
