Winter Chill Back Across Odisha; IMD predicts dense fog during 24 hours and rain from January 17
Bhubaneswar: Amid a significant drop in minimum temperatures in most parts of Odisha, the return of cold was experienced across the state on Sunday.
According to the meteorological center in Bhubaneswar, the minimum temperature (night temperature) fell below 10 degrees Celsius at at least ten places in the state during the last 24 hours.
While Kirei in Sundergarh district was the coldest place in the state at 7.5 degrees Celsius, G Udayagiri in Kandhamal stood second at 8 degrees Celsius. Rourkela recorded a minimum temperature of 8.7 degrees Celsius, while Koraput recorded a minimum temperature of 8.9 degrees Celsius, Sundergarh 9 degrees, Jharsuguda 9.3 degrees, Ranital in Bhadrak district and Semiliguda in Koraput 9.5 degrees and Keonjhar 9.6 degrees.
Dense fog blanketed many places across the state, reducing visibility significantly. Otherwise, dry weather prevails in the state. There was dense fog at some places and light to moderate fog at one or two places in Kandhamal and Ganjam districts.
The weather center said in a bulletin that dense fog is likely to occur at one or two places in at least nine districts of Odisha during the next 24 hours. Similarly, there is a possibility of rain at many places on January 17 and 18.

Dry weather is likely to persist in the districts of Odisha. Light to moderate fog is likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Odisha.

Dry weather is likely to persist in the districts of Odisha. Light to moderate fog is likely to occur at one or two places in the districts of Odisha.
Day 4 (8.30 am on 17.01.2024 to 8.30 am on 18.01.2024)
Light rain at one or two places is likely over Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts, and dry weather is likely over the rest of the districts of Odisha.

Light rain is likely at one or two places over Jharsuguda, Sundergarh, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Bhadrak districts and dry weather is likely over the remaining districts. Odisha.
