Two farmers were killed by lightning in southern West Bengal on Sunday, officials said. A 26-year-old man died after being struck by lightning in Tarakeshwar in Hooghly district. He told that this incident happened when the deceased Laxman Malik was working in the field amidst the rain.

In North 24 Parganas district, Nepal Haldar, 38, died while working in the field. He told that the incident happened in Gaighata. The mercury dropped due to rain, which gave relief to people after several days of heat.
